What this policy covers
This policy explains how Kinto collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Kinto iOS app and related services. It specifically discloses our use of Google user data as required by Google's API Services User Data Policy.
Information we collect
Account info (required to sign in):
Google account ID, name, email, profile image (via openid, email, profile).
Google Calendar data (optional):
Event metadata (title, attendees, timing) when you connect Calendar to show events in Kinto. We do not send invites or modify calendar entries unless you explicitly use a feature that needs write access (not enabled by default).
Google Contacts data (optional):
Contact metadata (name, email, phone) to display contacts inside Kinto. We do not email your contacts.
App activity & diagnostics:
Device type, app version, basic diagnostics (crash logs/metrics) to maintain and improve the service.
Content you add:
Notes, tags, voice transcriptions you intentionally create in Kinto.
How we use data
- Authenticate you and personalize your experience
- Display your calendar events and contacts inside Kinto (read‑only by default)
- Provide features like search, reminders, and relationship insights
- Securely operate, troubleshoot, and improve Kinto
Data storage & retention
Access tokens are stored securely and rotated according to provider best practices. Refresh tokens are encrypted at rest.
Your content (notes, transcriptions, tags) is stored in our database and backed up for reliability.
You can request deletion of your account and data at any time; we delete within 30 days, except data we must retain for legal or security reasons.
Data sharing
We do not sell your data.
We do not share personal data with third parties for advertising.
Service providers (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics) access only what is necessary to provide the service and are bound by confidentiality and data‑processing terms.
Your controls
- Connect/disconnect Google at any time in Account → App Settings.
- Revoke Kinto's access from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Export your Kinto data by contacting support@myKinto.ai.
- Delete your account in‑app or by contacting support; we will confirm deletion.
Security
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
- Access controls, least‑privilege, and monitoring
Children
Kinto is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We will update this policy as needed and post the new effective date here.
